Dashing Through the Snow: A Christmas Novel - Debbie Macomber

Dec 24-28

Ashley Davison, a graduate student in California, desperately wants to spend the holidays with her family in Seattle. Dashiell Sutherland, a former army intelligence officer, has a job interview in Seattle and must arrive by December 23. Though frantic to book a last-minute flight out of San Francisco, both are out of luck: Every flight is full, and there’s only one rental car available. Ashley and Dash reluctantly decide to share the car, but neither anticipates the wild ride ahead.

At first they drive in silence, but forced into close quarters Ashley and Dash can’t help but open up. Not only do they find they have a lot in common, but there’s even a spark of romance in the air. Their feelings catch them off guard—never before has either been so excited about a first meeting. But the two are in for more twists and turns along the way as they rescue a lost puppy, run into petty thieves, and even get caught up in a case of mistaken identity. Though Ashley and Dash may never reach Seattle in time for Christmas, the season is still full of surprises—and their greatest wishes may yet come true.

Review:
this book is about Ashley and dash they are both going to Seattle and they can't get a flight so they decide to ride together and it doesn't go very well they end up fighting a lot and they they end up stopping and ashley wants to take a puppy to her mother but dash doesn't want to have a puppy with them so they end up fighting and she gets out of the car and he leaves her then a biker gang shows up and then dash is back and then they start getting along the only part of the story I didn't like was the FBI part it didn't seem to make sense but other than that I really liked this story . They stop at a hotel and they end kissing and then the FBI finds then cause they think she is some kind of criminal which she isn't and she is finally released and her and dash go to her mom's which was cute I really liked this book

Twelve Days of Christmas: A Christmas Novel - Debbie Macomber

December 18-23

In a festive annual tradition, #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber returns with another original holiday novel full of romance and cheer. This time around, a plucky young woman clashes with a real-life Scrooge—her grouchy, arrogant, annoyingly handsome neighbor—and tries to get even the only way she knows how: by killing him with kindness.

Review : this book was a perfect Christmas read for me this book is about Julia and her grumpy neighbor to get this job Julia needs to write a popular blog so her best friend suggests that she kill him with kindness so up until Christmas she kills him with kindness until they start to get along and more than she though she actually likes the guy but then he finds out the blog and is hurt and mad and won't talk to her . she ends up inviting his grandfather over for Christmas dinner and he ends up having to go to the hospital so Julia comes along and they make up this book just is a perfect Christmas read.

quotes :

Kill him with kindness

He rarely allowed anyone to get close, and for good reason. It seemed every time he did, he regretted it.

“He took your newspaper; he didn’t threaten to bury you in concrete.”

Cain Maddox, you have a sense of humor.

Merry Christmas, Cain.” He held her gaze and then muttered, “Bah humbug.

Think you’re wrong about that,” Bernie said with a thoughtful look. “He’s attracted to you, but knowing my grandson, he’s fighting it tooth and nail

That boy hasn’t got a romantic bone in his body. He probably thought he was giving you a compliment.”

If he didn’t kiss her soon, she was going to reach for his lapels and jerk him close and do it herself. Just when she was about to stand on the tips of her toes and kiss him, Cain leaned down and captured her mouth. His kiss was exactly how she’d imagined. Her entire body swayed toward him and he wrapped his arms around her in a hold that half lifted her from the ground. Julia’s arms slipped around his neck as she gave herself over to him. The kiss was intense and deep: a mingling of passion, need, want, desire, and longing. It went on for what seemed like several moments. When they broke apart, they both swayed as if their entire world had made a shift…and for Julia it had. This was above and beyond anything she could ever have predicted. Cain pressed his forehead against hers. “I knew you’d taste like heaven.” His words felt like warm honey. “You’re going to be addictive, aren’t you?” he murmured. “I…I don’t know…maybe…I’d like it if I were.” With everything in her, she hoped what he said was true. “One taste will never be enough.” She grazed her lips over his in a near kiss, enjoying the freedom to tease him. His arms remained around her. Her own were tucked about his waist. “You still going to buy me coffee in the morning?” “My word is good.” “Mine, too.”

Congratulations, sweetheart.” Sweetheart? She froze, her breath trapped in her lungs. “Did you just call me sweetheart?” “Did I?

You get a puppy but want to wait on a baby?” Bernie shook his head. “You sure you know what you’re doing, boy?”

Book review : Its complicated missy Johnson

Its complicated - Missy Johnson
December 16-18

They call him the Anaconda, and I'm pretty sure it isn’t because he likes snakes.

Nick Jenson is my neighbor. My hot, oh-so-sexy, very-well-equipped neighbor that I’d spend hours watching from the safety of my bedroom window.

I saw lots of things I probably shouldn’t have. Sometimes I’d touch myself, imagining it were his hands roaming over my body instead of my own. I had just one mission—to find out if the rumors were true.

Then one day, he caught me watching him.

I was mortified. I was prepared to quit college, move to another country, and live the rest of my life saying, “Nick who?” But, apparently, life had other ideas.

Because Nick? Well, he isn’t just my neighbor … He’s also my father’s best friend. If I thought things were difficult before, they were about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Oh, and those rumors? Holy fuck, were they true …

Review: This book was a fun read it's about Anna and Nick they are neighbours and he is a widow Anna one day watches him undress cause she can see him through the window but one day he sees her and she has to go over and watch his kids but then they kiss and fool around the big problem in the relationship Nick and Anna father are best friends and he doesn't know they are dating then goes the trip from hell it's Nick and his kids and Anna and her father his girlfriend and Anna friend Kayla. Anna father finds out and punches Nick I kinda think he overreacted Anna is an adult and can date whoever she wants and Nick is a good man . this book ended well very cute and it goes into the the future where Nick proposes so cute loved it .
quotes :
How am I supposed to resist those eyes? And this was before I even considered what he’s smuggling below the belt.

Holy shit! Fuck me with a stick! How could any woman handle that?” Kayla growls, shaking her head. “What did you say his wife died of? Cancer, or a big fat cock?”

Nick isn’t just my neighbor. He’s also my dad’s best friend.

Fuck. I’ve turned into the creepy guy who lives next door. Before long, kids will be refusing to walk past my house to

So,” he says, eyeing me curiously. “That was you the other night?” I cringe. “Who did you think it was? My father?” He grimaces and lets out a low laugh. “Not something I really want to think too hard about.”

Me: Hey. What's up? Kayla: Not much. You? Me: Nothing out of the ordinary. Just sitting on Nick's bed, waiting for him to come back to me. I thought I’d see what you were up to. Kayla: What the hell are you on about, women? You didn't break into his house, did you? I mean, I admire your commitment, but lying on his bed in your lingerie while he’s still at work is pretty creepy. Me: Yes, it would be creepy if he wasn’t the one who asked me over.

His tongue …” I shiver and groan at the same time. “Don't even get me started on the magic he can work with that.”

Dad, you can’t just walk in here like that,” I gasped, rushing to cover myself up. “What if I was doing something you weren’t supposed to see?” “You mean like fucking my best friend?

Jesus fucking Christ, put some pants on before you injure someone with that thing,”

It doesn’t matter how hard life gets because often, it’s the things you have to work for the hardest that are really worth it in the end.

Things I'm Seeing Without You - Peter Bognanni

October 29- December 11 Seventeen-year-old Tess Fowler has just dropped out of high school. She can barely function after learning of Jonah’s death. Jonah, the boy she’d traded banter with over texts and heartfelt e-mails. Jonah, the first boy she'd told she loved and the first boy to say it back. Jonah, the boy whose suicide she never saw coming. Tess continues to write to Jonah, as a way of processing her grief and confusion. But for now she finds solace in perhaps the unlikeliest of ways: by helping her father with his new alternative funeral business, where his biggest client is . . . a prized racehorse? As Tess’s involvement in her father’s business grows, both find comfort in the clients they serve and in each other. But love, loss, and life are so much more complicated than Tess ever thought. Especially after she receives a message that turns her life upside down.

Review : This book was beautiful and sad Tess's boyfriend Jonah killed himself and she's not doing very well she's dropped out of school moved in with her dad and then she finds out to the end of Jonah's end that his roommate was msg her which she was hurt about . Her dad and her are doing this special funeral business and Jonah's roommate vists her and they talk and decide to plan Jonah's funeral . This book made me cry cause it talked about anxiety and I could relate and if you've ever lost someone you should read this book . They end up in italy and do Jonahs funeral which made me cry and the roomate and tess part ways and start writing letters it was beautiful.

Quotes:

You can't just run away from your grief . you have to deal with it head on . no matter how difficult and strange it is . we both took a drink of coffee. There are no shortcuts she said . you have to do the hard stuff before it gets any easier.

I want you to take your picture and send it to me
Its a little dark
Turn on a light , genius
Should I send it to you now
I'm going to hang up , I said , and then you're going to send it to me . But there's one last thing .
What ?
I want you to be naked in the picture .
More silence
Its only fair . I think you know that .
I didn't wait for a response . I just ended the call. And I fully expected that he would call right back and try to argue his way out of it . But he didn't do that . And as time passed at this rate about an hour per second, I wondered maybe if it was better if he didn't do it
It would give me a chance to break contact , to prove that he never really wanted to be on even ground with me .
What does a true liar do , after all , when you ask him to stand naked .

so what's the point of what we do ? I asked if we can't provide that.
Well... He said . He handed me a napkin for my tears. Maybe part of its just to reaffirm to people.
Reaffirm what ?
He looked away and scratched his chin , covered in black and gray stubble . Then he met my eyes again , and for once he didnt look like a sad clown . He looked serious .
that we don't need as much closure as we think we do .

I'm scared that I don't matter , even a little bit and no one matters and nothing matters . I'm scared that it all matters and I'm fucking it up . I'm scared I'm living my short short life wrong in every possible way . I'm scared I've already made so many mistakes and I dont have enough time to fix them . I'm scared I won't die with the slightest amount of dignity ,like on the toilet or watching bravo . I'm scared no one will care when I do . I'm scared that the only person I ever loved wasn't real . I'm scared I will never get over him . And I'm scared I'm making the same mistake again.
